Uttlesford Lib Dem Council Leader at Night Flights Rally10.19.39pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 24th Oct 2005 Uttlesford's Liberal Democrat Council Leader Mark Gayler will be speaking at a rally against night flights at Westminster Central Hall on Monday 24th October. The event has been organised jointly between Stop Stansted Expansion and the equivalent groups around Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Uttlesford District Council has already submitted a response to the Department of Transport's consultation document. "We have re-stated our call for a total ban on night flights at Stansted," said Cllr Gayler. "Air and ground noise in the night time causes suffering to thousands of people in the community. We are opposing proposals that will mean a 41% increase in the number of flights allowed, and make the situation even worse."
